Jupiter is at its closest point to Earth today (January 5), giving this year’s best view of it!

Small correction: Voyager 1 flew by Jupiter in 1979.

Jet engines can rev at more than 130 decibels, and researchers have managed to turn the sound into electrical energy using piezoelectric materials. This could lead to quieter engines and construction equipment, and potentially a new way to generate wind power.
